Need proof? Then you must check out the General Grabber HTS 60. This A/S highway tire doesn’t settle with the qualities outlined above. Instead, its superior aquaplaning resistance, extended treadwear warranty, and dynamic handling help it belie its mid-range asking price.

To help drivers forget about its predecessor, General equipped the Grabber HTS 60 with several features that the Grabber HTS didn’t have.
A cut- and chip-resistant tread compound is one such feature. This compound keeps sharp objects commonplace off the road from penetrating this model’s rubber. In doing so, it enables this highway terrain tire to come good for light off-roading.
Next comes the Comfort Balance Technology, which isolates the car cabin from road disturbances for a comfortable ride. The StabiliEdge Technology, meanwhile, increases this tire’s footprint on the road. The result is even tread wear for a long road life.
To help this model navigate wet and slippery roads, circumferential grooves and sipes come to the fore. While the former help with quick water evacuation, the biting edges enhance this tire’s traction to help it handle mild-to-moderate wintry conditions.

Is the Grabber HTS 60 one of the best snow tires on the market? Nope.
Would I count on it to keep me safe during light wintry conditions? Absolutely.
An elaborate siping detail (biting edges dotting its tread area) helps this tire plow through light snowy roads without slipping too much. Similarly, the circumferential grooves which evacuate water also do a good job of clearing its tread of snow, improving its grip.
So, unless the area where you live/drive receives more than its fair share of snow, the HTS 60 would be a reliable candidate for year-round driving.
General Grabber HTS 60 Off-Roading
You can count on the HTS 60 to come good for light off-roading.
This highway terrain tire has multiple features – two-ply polyester casing, interlocking tread blocks, multiple biting edges – that are crucial for dependable off-road performance, as long as you aren’t pushing it to its limits in deep mud or rocky terrains.
That is because this tire doesn’t have massive voids that help mud-terrain tires roll effortlessly through the squishy substance. Neither does it has the tough sidewall you see on rock-terrain tires. So, as stated above, the HTS 60 isn’t meant for heavy-duty off-road exploits.
General Grabber HTS 60 for Sporty Driving
The Grabber HTS 60 lacks the features needed for sporty driving.
Think of a softer rubber compound that helps performance tires offer added grip. Or an aggressive tread pattern with massive tread blocks for better grip and handling. Or stiffer sidewalls (vis-à-vis standard tires) for improved handling. The HTS 60 has neither of these features.
If you’re interested in high-speed driving, highway terrain tires shouldn’t be on your list. Instead, you’d be better off with summer performance tires.
Does the Grabber HTS 60 Ride Comfortably?
Yes, but it has the annoying habit of getting loud at higher speeds.
General has equipped this tire with a shock absorbent layer (pieces of rubber placed inside the tread) to isolate road vibrations from the cabin. So, whether rolling over minor or major road imperfections, this tire would provide a smooth driving experience.
Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about its noise.
While it’s quieter than similar-priced tires at lower speeds, the HTS 60 does get audible when you press down the accelerator. I’m not saying that the noise will be unbearable. Yet, compared with premium A/S highway tires, the HTS 60 is loud.
General Grabber HTS 60 Warranty
Depending on the tire size, you’d get one of two warranties on the HTS 60.
The T and S speed-rated sizes come with a 65,000-mile treadwear warranty, which is superb for a mid-range highway tire. However, the 50,000-mile warranty on the H and R speed-rated sizes is lackluster, especially compared to this tire’s premium rivals.
General Grabber HTS 60 Pricing: Is it worth the money?
One of the best things I can say about this tire is that its mid-range asking price doesn’t reflect its true qualities.
After all, which other pocket-friendly tire offers superb dry and wet performance, an up to 65,000-mile treadwear warranty, and dependable traction on the snow? That, too, while providing such a lush ride that it can put all your fellow passengers to sleep.
Therefore, the Grabber HTS 60 provides solid value for the money.
Should I buy the General Grabber HTS 60?
All the above features have made it clear that the Grabber HTS 60 is one of the best highway terrain all-season tires on the market.
True, this model could have done better on some counts. But on the whole, I have no complaints, simply because it offers above-average performance at a pocket-friendly price. For this reason, I’d always recommend this tire to budget-minded shoppers.
