One can cruise quite effortlessly and comfortably on the highway since the tires stick to the road, even at decent speeds. The AT2has a certain characteristic to it that makes it behave a little like a road tire, despite its off-road capabilities.

How is the Transforce AT2 on wet and slippery roads? 

The wet performance of the AT2 is at par with its dry performance. Large circumferential channels on the tire act as a passage for the water to seep out instead of sticking onto the tread. This prevents the chances of hydroplaning by a large margin, even under heavy rain/ flood conditions.

We’d reckon that this tire should be able to get someone out of a sticky, slushy situation without much struggle.

How is the Firestone Transforce AT2 on snowy roads?

Is the Firestone Transforce AT2 good for driving off-road?

Absolutely! The Transforce AT2 comes with all the required muscle to make it a great off-road tire. One can treat this as a go-anywhere tire since the AT2 has surprised many with its off-roading capabilities. To begin with, the Independent tread block design and open shoulders offer a great deal of traction on sand, mud, and rocky terrain.

A deep tread pattern and a unique tread design help the Transforce AT2 tackle the wrath of elements like gravel, rocks, pavements, and other obstacles. Aggressive tread lugs on the shoulder help the tire dig into loose sand and mud.

Is the Firestone Transforce AT2 good for Sporty Driving? 

We would definitely not recommend the Transforce AT2 for sporty driving for multiple reasons. The tire has a high profile characteristic meant for large vehicles that have a high center of gravity. It is designed to carry a heavy load on uneven terrain. 

The tread compound and design will not offer the required grip to corner at brake at high speeds since they are engineered and made for purposes like off-roading, hauling trailers and snow driving. Naturally, the same design cannot offer traction and stability at high speeds. 

Indulging in ‘sporty driving’ with acts of high-speed cornering and braking can cause a great amount of stress to the tire. This could result in a sudden loss of traction. 

Is the Transforce AT2 comfortable and refined? 

The new tread design on the AT2 not only offers advantages off the road but is also engineered in a way to improve passenger comfort. 

A two-ply casing helps absorb jolts and vibrations from the road without passing them into the cabin. One cannot expect the comfort that a touring tire would offer. However, one could expect a decent ride quality which is quite uncommon in all-terrain tires.
