Grand touring tires have been a thing for the past several decades, and every manufacturer aims to be on top. The constant research and development lead to some excellent models, especially from the premium tire segment.

With plenty of experience in the field, Bridgestone is one of the few companies on top. The company has several touring models in its lineup, and the one in focus for today is the Turanza QuietTrack. Labeled as a tire that will “quietly impress,” it’s intriguing to see if the company managed to achieve that without too many compromises.

What are the features of the Bridgestone Turanza QuietTrack?

The main selling point of the Turanza QuietTrack is that it’s a very quiet grand touring tire, and most of the features revolve around that. Bridgestone utilized its QuietTrack technology to test and tune the tire to reduce road noise as much as possible. The ridges in the grooves have two applications – eliminating high-pitched noises from the tire and aid with traction on snow.

Bridgestone Turanza QuietTrack Tire Review

Speaking of snow, the tread design of the Turanza QuietTrack should help a lot. The 3D sipes are in a zig-zag pattern that will additionally improve traction on snow.

ComfortCruise technology is another aspect that has two applications. Primarily, Bridgestone uses it to provide a more comfortable ride experience with reduced vibrations, something you’d expect from a grand touring tire. It achieves this by making the contact patch rounder, and as a bonus, it helps with performance on wet surfaces.

Bridgestone designed the Turanza QuietTrack with 4 circumferential grooves and longitudinal sipes to keep water from beneath the tire. The result of this design should be an excellent aquaplaning resistance.

The Turanza QuietTrack is an all-season tire, so the rubber compound is made to ensure longevity and performance in all weather conditions. To achieve that, Bridgestone used over 30 compounds.

In terms of dry performance, the Turanza QuietTrack is made with EdgePerformance technology. Thanks to it, the grooves are interlocked, which should help with tire stability.

How does it behave on dry tarmac?

For a grand touring tire, the Turanza QuietTrack has excellent performance on dry surfaces. It’s important to note that these kinds of tires are not as good as high-performance ones, so I won’t compare them.

The levels of grip are superb, and the tire will hold exceptionally well in a corner. You will notice this in cases where you push the tire a bit more and see that it’s not like most grand touring tires.

In these scenarios, enthusiasts are looking for a tire that can respond well, which the Turanza QuietTrack does. It’s not the sharpest, but it’s not as slow to respond as a winter tire. The feedback you get through the steering wheel is not as good as a performance tire, which may be an issue with some drivers. With that said, it’s not as muted as some of the other models I’ve reviewed. It’s important to know what kind of tire you’re getting.

Finally, thanks to the rubber compound and tread design, the Turanza QuietTrack offers very short braking distances.

How does it behave over wet and slippery roads?

Unfortunately, the Turanza QuietTrack isn’t as impressive on wet and slippery roads. The main area where the tire falls short is the braking distance. They still very safe, but as a premium tire, I was expecting shorter ones.

As for the rest of the performance, there’s nothing bad to say about it. The levels of grip and traction on wet surfaces are excellent, as they should be from a tire made by Bridgestone.

The tread design is tuned perfectly, ensuring superb aquaplaning resistance. It will result in a very stable tire regardless if you are driving in light or heavy rain.

How is it over snow?

Snow performance on the Turanza QuietTrack is decent enough to get the job done and keep you safe.

All-season tires aren’t known for top-notch snow performance, and it’s the same case with the Turanza QuietTrack. The grip level in the corners is good enough to keep you on the road if you don’t decide to drive your car rally style. As for traction, things are the same, enough to get you rolling if you don’t expect miracles.

Despite being safe enough in light snow conditions, the Turanza QuietTrack won’t replace your winter tires.

Is it comfortable and refined?

The use of the QuietTrack technology paid off, and Bridgestone produced one of the most comfortable and quietest tires.

In terms of sound, the Turanza QuietTrack is whisper-quiet, literally. There are some quiet tires out there, especially in the premium segment, but this one takes the crown. Bridgestone designed it so that even the faint sound of the tire itself is muted by other cabin sounds. Even electric car owners will be surprised by how noise-free the tire is.

The comfort levels are also something to praise. Minor road imperfections are perfectly ironed out, and larger ones are very well absorbed with no vibration or harshness.

Is it good for off-roading?

When it comes to all-season tires, I often say that they are not suited for off-roading and can say the same thing about the Turanza QuietTrack. While you can fit it to most SUVs or crossovers, the tire will be lousy in those conditions, and you could end up damaging it easily.

With that said, short detours on a gravel road should be fine, as long as you don’t expect any kind of performance. Mud should be avoided unless you’re talking about some small patches.

Is the Bridgestone Turanza QuietTrack ideal for sporty driving?

The Turanza QuietTrack isn’t too bad for sporty driving for an all-season tire designed for comfort.

You’ll have plenty of grip in the corners, and you can have some fun with it. Don’t expect it to be as grippy as a P Zero or Pilot Sport, but the Turanza QuietTrack will perform excellently for most people.

I won’t say that it’s an excellent tire for track activities, but you can take it if you want and have a good time.

Bridgestone Turanza QuietTrack Warranty

Bridgestone, as a premium brand, takes care of its clients and offers an excellent warranty. The Turanza QuietTrack comes with an 80,000-mile treadwear warranty which is among the longest ones in the business.

Pirelli’s P4 Four Seasons Plus is a rare model that goes over that and comes with a 90,000-mile warranty. Despite that, the longevity of the Turanza QuietTrack is excellent.

Bridgestone Turanza QuietTrack Pricing: Is it worth the money?

The Turanza QuietTrack is worth the money if you are prepared to pay the premium price for it. Bridgestone’s price for the tire starts from $145, which is among the more expensive options even in the premium segment. The good news is that you get a lot for it.

Outstanding dry performance, combined with excellent wet and light snow performance, is only part of the package. The main selling point is comfort and refinement. You will be getting one of the most comfortable and quietest tires in the industry.

To top it off, Bridgestone’s extended treadwear warranty means that longevity will not be an issue.

Should I buy the Bridgestone Turanza QuietTrack?

You absolutely should, especially if you spend a long time driving. With plenty of advantages and maybe one or two disadvantages, it’s hard not to like the Turanza QuietTrack.

All-season tires should perform well in multiple weather conditions, and that’s precisely what this tire can do. The dry performance may not be the best in the business, but it is more than what most drivers need. Plenty of grip and traction combined with a decently responsive tire will result in a safe and fun driving experience.

In rainy conditions, the tire will have plenty of grip in the corners and will keep the car planted. On the straights, the stability is excellent, just as is the aquaplaning resistance, thanks to how the tread design. The area where the Turanza QuietTrack disappoints a bit is the slightly longer braking distances.

On snow, the performance is decent in light snow conditions. It will have a decent amount of traction to get the car rolling and will have enough grip if you don’t push it too much in corners. The 3D sipes and zig-zag tread pattern help it be drivable in the snow.

If you’re looking for a quiet tire, you won’t find anything as quiet as this one. Bridgestone put a lot of effort into reducing tire roar to appoint where it’s almost silent. For comfort, you get a plush ride with no vibrations regardless of the surface you’re driving on.

To ensure that you use the Turanza QuietTrack for a long time, Bridgestone sells it with an 80,000-mile treadwear warranty, which is among the longest in the industry.

Overall, the Turanza QuietTrack is an excellent tire, and even though it may be a bit more expensive, you are getting a lot for the money.
